CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Virginia Theatre is set to welcome two powerhouse performers this fall with Fran Lebowitz and Ben Folds both bringing their distinct voices to the stage in October and November.

First up, celebrated author, humorist, and social commentator Fran Lebowitz takes the spotlight on Friday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. With her trademark wit and unapologetic frankness, Lebowitz will offer unscripted observations on everything from current events to her favorite grievances—like tourists, aftershave, and adults on roller skates. Often compared to Dorothy Parker, Lebowitz is known for her sharply pointed essays, interviews, and a public persona that’s as entertaining as it is opinionated. Tickets for “An Evening with Fran Lebowitz” are priced at $39.50 to $69.50, plus fees.

On Monday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m., genre-blending musician and Emmy nominee Ben Folds returns to Champaign with his intimate & A Piano Tour. Known for hits with Ben Folds Five and his acclaimed solo work, Folds’ performance will highlight selections from his 2023 pop album, his 2024 Christmas release, and a forthcoming live album with the National Symphony Orchestra. Opening for Folds is Lindsey Kraft, an actress and singer-songwriter whose “theatrical pop” style promises an engaging and heartfelt experience. Ticket prices range from $39.50 to $79.50, plus applicable fees and a $1 contribution to Folds’ Keys for Kids” initiative supporting music education.

Both shows go on general sale Friday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets and more details are available at thevirginia.org.
