CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – This weekend, the University of Illinois honored the academic achievements of its Fighting Illini student-athletes, as 95 current and former athletes participated in May commencement ceremonies at Memorial Stadium.
In total, 132 student-athletes are set to earn degrees during the 2024–25 academic year, a testament to their dedication both on the field and in the classroom. The university anticipates awarding 21 additional degrees in August 2025 and 24 more in December 2024, bringing the year’s projected total to 142.
The graduation ceremony was part of the university-wide commencement held on Saturday, drawing thousands of students, faculty, and families to Memorial Stadium.
