CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois beat Michigan State Saturday with a 38-16 victory over at Memorial Stadium. It was first time since 2001 that the football team won six home wins in a season.
Running back Josh McCray added three rushing touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter. McCray ended up with 61 yards on nine carries of the game.
Pat Bryant finished with a career-high 135 yards on just four receptions. His 57-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter marked the longest reception of his career. Quarterback Luke Altmyer went 19-for-32 with 231 yards and two passing touchdowns in the first half.
Illinois has two Big Ten road games to close out the season. Saturday, November 23, they travel to Rutgers to take on the Scarlet Knights.
