Illinois beats Oakland 66-54 after a game plagued with turnovers

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois men’s basketball remainse undefeated after 66-54 win over Oakland at the State Farm Center last night. Tomislav Ivisic scored 20 points, and Ben Humrichous added 10. The rest of the Illini combined for a record of 14 of 41.

Both teams racked up 18 turnovers, and Illinois had its lead cut to 38-36 in the second half before going on a 17-4 run.

The Illini lead did not reach double digits again in the first half, with Oakland making five straight shots to keep pace with the Orange and Blue. Leading by as many as 13, Illinois went into halftime with a 36-29 advantage.

Both teams play a top-five team in their next game. Oakland plays at top-ranked Kansas on Saturday. Illinois is on the road before playing at No. 2 Alabama on November 20 in the C.M. Newton Classic.
