SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) – The Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) has been honored with the 2025 Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health, a national certification awarded by Mental Health America (MHA). The Bell Seal recognizes employers that meet high standards in fostering mentally healthy workplaces, and IDOR becomes the first state governmental agency in Illinois to receive this prestigious designation.

IDOR was awarded the Gold Bell Seal, the second-highest level of recognition, following a rigorous evaluation process that reviewed its policies and practices in four key areas: workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs. The agency earned an impressive 91% combined average score across these categories.

We are truly honored to receive this award,” said IDOR Director David Harris. “It serves as a powerful affirmation of our efforts to create a culture that prioritizes mental health. I am especially proud that IDOR is the first governmental agency in the state to earn this recognition—it underscores our leadership and commitment to our employees.”

The Bell Seal is awarded on four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Nationally, only two out of five employers meet the threshold for certification. This recognition reflects the dedication and professionalism of our entire team,” Harris added. “We will continue striving for excellence on behalf of our employees.”
