CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – In a 74-38 victory over Purdue on Monday night at State Farm Center, Illinois women secured their first win against the Boilermakers since 2021 and witnessed Kendall Bostic set a new career rebounding record. Bostic surpassed Jenna Smith’s long-standing record, grabbing her 11th rebound in the third quarter to become the program’s all-time leader. She finished the night with 17 points, 13 of which came in the first half, alongside 13 rebounds, two steals, and an assist, marking her 13th double-double of the season.
The Fighting Illini had four players finish in double figures, with Genesis Bryant contributing 13 points and three assists, including 10 points in the second quarter. Jasmine Brown-Hagger added 11 points, her ninth double-digit performance of the season, while Berry Wallace contributed 16 points off the bench.
The Illini will now hit the road for a two-game swing on the East Coast, starting with a matchup against Rutgers on Thursday at 6 p.m.
