CHAMPAIGN, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY) – After a confident win against Central Michigan yesterday, Illinois football is back in the top 25. According to Sunday’s AP Top 25, Illinois is ranked just two spots behind the team’s next opponent, Nebraska, who came in at #22. This marks the first time Illinois is in the top 25 since 2022, when the squad reached #14 and were ranked for four consecutive weeks.
So far this season, the Illini have beaten Eastern Illinois, #19 Kansas, and Central Michigan to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2011.
Nebraska hosts Illinois on Friday night at 7 p.m.
