CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Illinois football team easily cruised to a 45-0 victory against Eastern Illinois Thursday night at Memorial Stadium.
Coach Bret Bielema was proud of his squad but admitted they have things to work through this week. “Overall, we played a pretty clean game, but there’s a lot of things we need to get cleaned up.”
Head quarterback Luke Altmyer completed 19 of 24 passes for 213 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Kaden Feagin reached more than 100-yards for the first time in career, finishing with 108 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown.
The Fighting Illini host the Kansas Jayhawks next week on Saturday at 7 p.m. Last year the Jayhawks beat Illinois, 34-23, in Lawrence.
