CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Illinois men’s basketball team will look to snap a four-game losing streak against Penn State when they host the Nittany Lions at 8 p.m. tonight. Illinois has not defeated Penn State since March 3, 2022.
Penn State comes into the matchup off a loss to Indiana, but the Illini are determined to bounce back and build on their recent momentum.
Describing the team’s momentum, coming off of a winning west coast trip, Illinois head coach Brad Underwood said, “We had to learn how not to lose before we could learn how to win.” Underwood is confident his team will continue to find ways to win as they host two Big 10 opponents this week. “This team is starting to gel with lots of time, practice, and playing hard together.”
Following the Penn State game, Illinois will round out the week by hosting USC at 11 a.m. Saturday.
