CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Big Ten Conference has officially announced the bracket for the 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, with Illinois securing the No. 7 seed. The tournament will take place from March 5-9 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
For the third consecutive year, the Fighting Illini earned a first-round bye, ensuring they will start postseason play on Thursday, March 6, at 5:30 p.m. (central time.) Illinois will face the winner of the first-round matchup between Nebraska (No. 10) and Rutgers (No. 15).
This marks a significant achievement for Illinois, as they’ve earned a single-digit seed in the Big Ten Tournament for three straight years, a feat they hadn’t accomplished since securing six consecutive top eight seeds from 2005 to 2010.
