CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Illinois women’s basketball team showcased a powerful second half, defeating Nebraska 77-68 at State Farm Center on Sunday evening. With this victory, the Fighting Illini extended their winning streak to eight consecutive games, the longest in program history, and improved to 21-5 overall and 11-4 in Big Ten play.

Illinois had four players in double figures, with Adalia McKenzie leading the charge. McKenzie scored 23 points, including 17 in the second half, while shooting 60% from the field. She also recorded eight rebounds, seven assists, and a season-high four steals. Kendall Bostic posted her career-best 17th double-double of the season, contributing 19 points and 11 rebounds, along with an assist and a block.

Berry Wallace finished with 15 points, including 10 in the first half. She shot 6-for-9 from the field, with three 3-pointers, and added three rebounds and an assist. Genesis Bryant also made significant contributions, scoring 12 points and adding four assists, three rebounds, and a steal.

The Illini will now head west for a two-game road trip, beginning with a matchup against No. 1 UCLA on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
