CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois women basketball’s 13-game home win streak, spanning across two seasons, came to an end on Thursday night as the Fighting Illini were defeated by Washington, 71-65.

The game was tightly contested throughout, with the Huskies holding a slim three-point lead at halftime. Washington extended their advantage in the second half, outscoring Illinois 44-38 to secure the victory.

Genesis Bryant had a standout performance for the Illini, tying her career-high with 32 points. She played all 40 minutes of the game, alongside teammate Kendall Bostic, who also played the entire game and contributed 17 points in the loss.

The Illini will now look to regroup as they head on the road to face Minnesota in their next game on Sunday, January 5.
