CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – A day of fireworks, food, and patriotic celebration is just around the corner, as thousands will make their way to the State Farm Center to celebrate Independence Day next week.
As per usual, a fireworks show will take place near the State Farm Center, preceded by a list of events and activities.
The full schedule of events is as follows:
Parade – 4:30 p.m.
A new parade route will kick off festivities on Friday. The parade’s new route runs from the Southeast corner of the State Farm Center at the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and South Fourth Street, trailing northbound alongside between the Ikenberry Commons and Huff Hall. The parade then loops around Ikenberry on East Gregory Drive, heading south on South First Street down around Memorial Stadium before reaching the Southeast corner of the Stadium at West Kirby Avenue and South Fourth Street.
Evening Program – 6:00 p.m.
In Lot 31 of State Farm Center, a wide range of activities awaits families before the main fireworks show. Food trucks, live music, a flag ceremony, and children’s activities will keep families more than occupied.
Fireworks – 9:20 p.m.
The main event of the evening begins at 9:20 p.m.!
