CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – A man riding a bicycle was found lying on the ground just after 1 p.m. Monday on Mattis Avenue, just south of Hedge Road.
Witnesses saw the man upright and speaking with police shortly after the incident. Champaign Police would not confirm whether he had been struck by a vehicle, and the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
Emergency responders, including Champaign police officers, the Champaign Fire Department, and EMTs from Carle Hospital, were dispatched to the scene.
The man’s family arrived shortly after the incident, and there is no word yet on whether he sustained any injuries. Authorities have not released his identity. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
