MONTICELLO, IL (Chambana Today) – A collaborative initiative led by the U of I Extension Masters Gardeners, the City of Monticello, and Kirby Medical Center is coming to Monticello later this fall.
The Monticello Community Garden will host two education and engaging open houses, aimed at gardeners of all skill levels.
The Growing Cut Flowers event will take place on August 11 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and participants can learn about the Master Gardener Cut Flower Garden and have an opportunity to create a mini flower bouquet to take home.
The Growing Herbs event will be on September 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and participants will be educated on tips for growing and harvesting herbs and make a mini herb container to enjoy at home.
The events are an opportunity to explore the Monticello Community Garden and connect with local Master Gardeners. Both events are free to attend, but it is requested that you register at least one day beforehand at go.illinois.edu/Growing.
