MONTICELLO, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY)- Jeremiah Wenke will be signing his National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, an NCAA Division III Institution as a member of the football team. Founded in 1874, Rose‑Hulman Institute of Technology has established itself as the consistently top-ranked undergraduate engineering college in the U.S. Their beautiful campus in west-central Indiana is home to some of the nation’s best STEM students, faculty, staff, and facilities. Rose-Hulman offers a hands-on academic experience taught by nationally ranked faculty in a collaborative and innovative community. Ranked as the No. 1 Undergraduate Engineering Program for 24 straight years by U.S. News & World Report, Rose-Hulman is also nationally ranked for value and teaching excellence.

The Rose–Hulman Fightin’ Engineers are the athletics teams for Rose–Hulman Institute of Technology, located in Terre Haute, Indiana, United States. The Fightin’ Engineers athletic program is a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. As of 2021, Rose–Hulman has had a student-athlete named to an NCAA Division III Academic All-America Team for 36 consecutive years. One hundred forty-two Academic All-Americans have been named from the school.

Rose–Hulman won the Commissioner’s Cup from the HCAC eight times over the decade from 2008 to 2018.
In football, Jeremiah will be joining the Fightin’ Engineers Program under the direction of Coach Jeff Sokol. Coach
Sokol has helped rewrite the Rose-Hulman football record book in his 12 years as head coach, including leading the
Fightin’ Engineers to their first two NCAA Division III playoff appearances in 2016 and 2021. He is also a 4-time
HCAC Coach of the Year selection. He has led the Fightin’ Engineers to three HCAC regular season championships,
two NCAA Division III Playoff appearances and five HCAC runner-up finishes since 2013.

At MHS, Jeremiah has been a member of the football team, FFA, FCA, Madrigals, Thespians, Marching Band, Chamber Choir, Symphonic Band, Lifesavers, 4-H, SWAG, Pep Band and the St. Philomena Youth Group. Jeremiah is a two-year letter winner in football. He earned 2nd team all-conference and honorable mention all area News Gazette his senior year.

Jeremiah selected Rose-Hulman because it is the #1 undergraduate engineering school in the nation and has great
facilities. Rose provides a rigorous curriculum with a plentiful amount of support. Rose-Hulman will allow him to
balance athletics, school, and music. Rose has a smallish school setting and is close to home. His favorite football
memory was when we played and won in the Rain at Prairie Central this year, the huddle group activities, senior night football game, and Coach Welter’s Speeches. Jeremiah would like to continue my passion for chorus at Rose as well. Jeremiah has two brothers Jacob and Joseph Jeremiah is the son of Jan and Joe Wenke and plans to major in mechanical engineering.
