CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – In Champaign and surrounding areas, several local restaurants have received yellow food safety alerts following recent health inspections.
On March 27, Tenkyu in Champaign received a yellow alert after a health inspector found multiple violations, including cross-contamination of raw seafood and meats stored improperly. This marks the third consecutive inspection with similar violations. Tenkyu has been given a follow-up inspection in the coming days.
ET’s Downtown Rantoul also received a yellow alert on March 28 for cold holding violations, with several items like lettuce, pico de gallo, and cut tomatoes found above the required temperature. The restaurant is scheduled for a compliance meeting this week.
H Mart in Urbana received an alert on March 31 after failing to correct a previous violation regarding food package labeling. If they do not meet the new deadline, their health permit could be suspended.
Lastly, Urbana Country Club got a yellow alert on April 1 for repeated cold holding violations. Several items were found at improper temperatures, and a follow-up inspection is scheduled after a compliance questionnaire.
