DANILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – The Vermilion County Coroner has identified the two individuals who died in an apparent murder-suicide in Danville on Friday, May 9.

Coroner Jane McFadden confirmed that 32-year-old Lacy K. Williams and 67-year-old William J. Rudy, both of Danville, were the deceased. Autopsies were completed Sunday, though final determinations are pending toxicology results.

Danville Police responded around 5:57 p.m. to the 200 block of Grace Street after reports of gunfire. Officers found Williams in the front yard with gunshot wounds; she was taken to a local hospital where she later died. Witnesses told police a man was seen standing next to her with a handgun before retreating inside the home. When officers couldn’t make contact, the Emergency Response Unit entered the residence and found Rudy dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
