CHICAGO (Chambana Today) — A new report from the American Heart Association shared that the leading cause of death among women continues to grow.

The AHA says that the number of women living with cardiovascular disease is expected to increase sharply. Nearly 60% of women in the United States could have high blood pressure by 2050, which is up from the 50% reported in 2020.

The trends aren’t just for older women, either. Nearly a third of women aged between 22 and 44 will have some kind of cardiovascular disease other than high blood pressure, compared to less than one in four today. Additionally, nearly 32% of girls aged two to 19 may have obesity by 2050.
