Champaign, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer threw for four touchdowns in Lincoln, Nebraska to give No. 24 Illinois a 31-24 win over No. 22 Nebraska tonight. The Illini are off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2011. The Illini beat the Cornhuskers in Lincoln for a third straight time.
The teams each scored touchdowns in the second half before the Illini tied it, 24-24. Nebraska punted and missed a field goal near the end of regulation with just under three minutes left in the game.
Illinois fumbled and punted, then Nebraska took a knee to send the game to overtime. Illinois scored the first touchdown of overtime, to lead 31-24.
Nebraska’s quarterback was sacked three times, including on fourth down to end the game.
