Dear Chambana Today readers,
Are you SO tired? Not in a “I-am-going-to-bed-and-will-feel-refreshed-tomorrow” kind of tired, but in a “it-has-been-such-a-long-fall-and-winter” kind of weary? We have all had a really intense, exhausting stretch since…well…Halloween. I, personally, am counting down the minutes until I can put on fuzzy socks and lay on the couch on New Year’s Eve.
This is a quick note to thank our readers for finding Chambanatoday.com and growing with us. This local, free, online news source was created last May, and it’s only seven months old (which is only four months younger than the rescue dog we adopted because…look at his face!)
I joined Illini Media Group in July, after six years away from the microphone and newsroom. Was it like riding a bike? Um…sort of. Remembering to write a succinct headline and put the “who, what, where, when, why, and how” in every story took a minute to come back! I am also still in (thrilled) disbelief that I get to be a news anchor on the radio stations I grew up listening to on the way to school.
We are glad you found us, hope you stick with this news source, and enjoy perusing our website. If there is something in our community that you see, want me to write about, or think is newsworthy, please reach out to me – editor@illinimedia.com or https://chambanatoday.com/submit-news/. Download our news app as well and subscribe to our weekly newsletter at https://chambanatoday.com/newsletter-signup/.
I am the wrong person to deliver a pep talk on how to be a “healthier, happier you” in the new year. I have a candy drawer at work that barely closes and I fall asleep scrolling my phone almost every night. What I can tell you is I hope this upcoming year is healthy and happy FOR YOU. Thank you for taking this ride with us!
Best wishes,
Elizabeth Hess, Editor-in-Chief
