CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – This Christmas season, Operation Christmas Child is back to collect gifts for kids throughout the world through the Samaritan’s Purse Project.  People have the opportunity to pack a shoebox gift filled with toys, school supplies, and personal care items. They can then drop them off during National Collection Week, November 18 – 25. There are more than 4,700 drop-off locations open around the country.

Operation Christmas Child has been collecting and delivering shoebox gifts to children worldwide for more than three decades.

For more information, call 816-622-8316, or visit samaritanspurse.org/occ. Those who prefer the convenience of online shopping can browse samaritanspurse.org/buildonline to select gifts matched to a child’s specific age and gender, then finish packing the virtual shoebox by adding a photo and personal note of encouragement.

Participants can drop off their shoebox donations at the Meadowbrook Community Church on Duncan Road on Champaign. The First Baptist Church on Glenwood Drive in Rantoul is also a drop-off location.
