CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Champaign Center Partnership kicks off the holiday season on November 30 in downtown Champaign. This year’s Parade of Lights theme is “Candy Cane Lane”. The festivities will include an indoor market, carriage rides, and visits with Santa.

Some of the events of the November 30 celebration include:

  • All day – Shop local on Small Business Saturday!
  • 1:00 pm – Candy Cane Lane opens on Taylor Street. Family-friendly entertainment includes face painting, musical performances, hot cocoa, balloon art, crafts, and horse and carriage rides.
  • 1-2:30 pm – Sensory-friendly visits with Santa at Big Grove Tavern.
  • 2:30-5:30 pm – Visits with Santa at Big Grove Tavern.
  • 6:00 pm – Parade of Lights kicks off.
  • ~7:00 pm – Following the parade, join the illumination of the Tree of Lights – located in front of Guido’s Bar and Grill this year.
  • 8:00 pm – NEW this year! Karaoke, holiday trivia, and more at The Esquire Lounge.

Volunteers are needed to implement all aspects of the day.
