CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – A woman living in the Chicago suburbs has been arrested in connection with the 2019 death of a two-year-old child in Danville.
The Danville Police Department announced that Tatiana C. Neustadter of Plainfield was taken into custody on Monday in Joliet, nearly six years after the incident. Her arrest follows what police called a “diligent and continuous investigation” into the death of the young child, who was found severely injured on Camaro Drive on June 4, 2019.
Authorities said the child died several weeks after the initial report, prompting a long-term investigation that culminated in an arrest warrant issued on April 4. Neustadter has since been transported to Vermilion County, where she is now being held at the Vermilion County Public Safety Building.
She faces four counts of murder and two counts of aggravated battery to a child. Neustadter will remain in custody as she awaits trial.
