URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – For the second consecutive year, Cunningham Children’s Home is teaming up with University of Illinois students from the Department of Recreation, Sport, and Tourism to host the Illini Get Pickled Charity Pickleball Tournament. The event is set to take place on March 29-30 at Huff Hall at the University of Illinois.
Registration for the tournament is set at $75 per team, which includes an exclusive Illini Get Pickled! Tournament T-shirt and a coupon for a free Jimmy John’s pickle for each participant. Pickleball paddles will be provided by DICK’S Sporting Goods, or participants can bring their own.
Last year’s Illini Get Pickled! event raised over $4,000 for Cunningham Children’s Home, and this year’s goal is even higher: organizers aim to have 100 teams participate and raise $10,000. All funds raised will help bring hope and healing to Cunningham youth and families facing difficult life circumstances.
Teams can consist of 2-3 players. The event is open to both novice and experienced pickleball players, and interested individuals can sign up for a team through the event’s registration site: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/picbal/.
