CHAMPAIGN, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY)– On April 21st, 2024, at 2:44 PM, Urbana police responded to the 2000 Block of Country Squire for a report of a missing teenager. The teenager left the home on April 21st, around 8:00 AM intending to run an errand. The teenager never returned and his mother contacted Urbana Police Officers. Efforts have been made to locate the teenager by patrol officers and detectives. The Urbana Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in locating the missing teenager.

The teenager, Tiago Zumarraga-Mosquera, is a 6’01 160-pound Latino 14-year-old with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a khaki hooded sweatshirt. Tiago may also have a red rolling suitcase and a white backpack. Tiago speaks Spanish and limited English and is a refugee from Ecuador. Tiago did contact his mother via Facebook messenger on April 22nd at 6:00 PM where he informed his mother he was in the Urbana-Champaign area but refused to come home. If observed, please call 911 to report the whereabouts of Tiago

Crime Stoppers will pay cash rewards of $5,000 for tips that lead to an arrest in any homicide case, $2,500 for tips leading to an arrest in a felony crime involving a firearm, and up to
$1,000 for tips leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for any other crime.
