RANTOUL, IL (Chambana Today) – Earlier this week, members of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Health Drive in Rantoul.
The investigation started after detectives received multiple Cyber Tips indicating that Cristobal Mendoza, 40, had been requesting and distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). As a result of the search, multiple electronic devices were seized and are pending forensic examination.
Mendoza was arrested and transported to the Champaign County Correctional Center, where he was charged with the possession of CSAM. It was also discovered during the investigation that Mendoza was wanted in the state of Texas for a felony driving while intoxicated (DWI) offense.
This investigation remains ongoing.
