CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The University of Illinois Public Safety has issued an alert following a reported sexual assault that occurred on campus over the weekend. According to the University of Illinois Police Department, the incident took place around midnight on Saturday, March 8, at a fraternity. The victim, a student, did not know the offender.

In an effort to maintain student safety and awareness, the university has shared the information while refraining from providing specific details that could identify the survivor. Public Safety officials emphasized that these alerts aim to encourage vigilance, student safety, and the prevention of future incidents.
