CHAMPAIGN. IL (Chambana Today) – A shooting late this afternoon in Champaign has left one individual with potentially life-threatening injuries, according to police.
At approximately 5:01 p.m. today, Champaign Police officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Third Street in response to reports of a shooting involving injuries. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from serious gunshot wounds.
Emergency aid was immediately administered by officers on scene, with assistance from the Champaign Fire Department. The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital. Their current condition has not been released, though authorities report the injuries may be life-threatening.
