CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Law enforcement officials are investigating after multiple shots were fired Wednesday afternoon in a Champaign neighborhood.
Lieutenant Curtis Apperson of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that gunfire was reported near the intersection of Roland Drive and Comanche Drive. Authorities have not released information about injuries, suspects, or possible arrests.
Officers remained on the scene as of Wednesday afternoon while investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials said more information will be released as it becomes available.
The investigation is ongoing.
