CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Keagan Marie Markun is a hard worker both on-and-off the course. She has high expectations and is always working hard to get better at golf and to be a better student. She has learned that you never give up, and in order to succeed at life, you must power through with hard work.

Keagan is quick to point out that she is not the best golfer on the St. Thomas More golf team, but she really loves the game and being part of the team. She credits Kim and Tony Zahn with any success she has had in golf. St. Thomas More’s Athletic Director, Jon Marson, says Keagan has a work ethic that others admire. “She is a great role model for all students.”

As much as she loves golf, her focus has been on academics and raising money for the homeless, where she has raised $25,000 for C-U at Home One Winter over the last eight years. Keagan has worked hard in high school, while taking classes part-time at Parkland College. She is looking forward to attending a research 1 university, majoring in bio-medical design.
