MAHOMET, IL (Chambana Today) – Mahomet-Seymour High School proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of Aron Varga, an exceptional athlete and scholar whose prowess in swimming has earned widespread recognition.  Varga is the son of Csaba Varga and Emese Poszet of Mahomet.

As a senior and team captain at Mahomet-Seymour High School, Varga has made a lasting impact on the school’s swimming program by shattering records. His unparalleled talent and dedication have led him to set multiple school records, including the 50 free, 100 breast, and 200 IM events. Despite committing seriously to swimming only during his junior and senior years, Varga’s natural ability and relentless work ethic have driven him to success.

Beyond his record-breaking performances, Varga has shown outstanding leadership both in and out of the pool, guiding his teammates and exemplifying the values of sportsmanship and dedication. His unwavering commitment to excellence has inspired those around him to aim for greatness.

Varga’s accomplishments extend beyond high school competition, as he has distinguished himself as an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) state qualifier in both the 200 IM and 100 breast events. His stellar performances at the state level have earned him recognition as one of the top swimmers in Illinois.

Looking ahead to his collegiate career, Varga has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic pursuits at the prestigious Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. There, he will pursue a degree in mathematics while competing as a member of the swimming team. Varga’s decision to join the Rose-Hulman community reflects his dedication to academic excellence and his passion for swimming.
