URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – An 18-year-old male is dead following a fatal shooting Friday night in Urbana.
According to the Urbana Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Vawter and Silver Streets at 8:22 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting with injuries. Upon arrival, they found the teenager suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers immediately administered first aid and life-saving measures before the victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. Officers continue to canvass the neighborhood, searching for witnesses and reviewing available security footage in hopes of identifying the suspect or suspects involved.
