CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Local educators and students are invited to participate in “Through Their Eyes,” a student exhibit in honor of Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. The exhibit, organized by the Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation, aims to foster understanding of the Holocaust through student-created artwork, writing, and film.
The exhibit is being curated to coincide with the Yom Hashoah Commemoration service on Wednesday, April 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sinai Temple, 3104 Windsor Rd., Champaign. Student submissions will be showcased to the public during exhibit hours on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the same location.
The exhibit provides an opportunity for students to explore the Holocaust through creative expression, while promoting tolerance and remembrance of those affected by one of history’s darkest chapters.
