CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s No Comment A Cappella has earned national recognition—and a $15,000 prize—after placing second in the Reser’s Fine Foods Good Times Jingle competition, part of the company’s 75th anniversary celebration.
The 15-member, all-gender group stood out among college a cappella ensembles from across the country with their original, energetic jingle. “We are incredibly honored and grateful to have placed in this jingle competition,” said Laney Toffler, President of No Comment A Cappella. “This prize money is truly transformative for our group—it allows us to support our members, cover travel for future competitions, and professionally record our music.”
No Comment has built a strong reputation in collegiate a cappella, having advanced to the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals in New York City last year.
The Good Times Jingle competition awarded a total of $75,000 to top college vocal groups. The University of Virginia’s Hullabahoos took the grand prize, with The Aires from Dartmouth College placing third, and Pitch, Please! from Northeastern University rounding out the top four.
