UPDATE W/PICS: Florida and Lincoln remains closed after Sheriff’s Deputy involved in crash

URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Lincoln Avenue in Urbana early Thursday morning.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing; the intersection is blocked off until around 11 a.m.

Urbana police are rerouting traffic at the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and Lincoln.

Police and public works are collaborating on clean up after the investigation is complete.

A tow truck stands by as the investigation continues before the deputy’s vehicle can be removed.

The deputy sustained serious but stable injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His name and status has not been released as of 10:00 a.m.
