URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – A majority quorum of the Urbana City Council may be present at the inaugural ceremony celebration for Mayor-Elect DeShawn B. Williams, scheduled for Saturday, May 3 at 1:00 PM. The public event will be held in the Main High Court of Lincoln Square Mall.
While council members may attend, no official city business or actions will take place during the ceremony.
The formal swearing-in of Mayor-Elect Williams and other elected Urbana officials will occur during a Special Meeting of the Urbana City Council on Monday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m., held in the Urbana City Council Chambers. That meeting will also be open to the public.
