URBANA and DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – Hundreds of protests took place on Saturday, June 14, the same day that a massive military parade, estimated to cost $40 million dollars, took place in Washington D.C.
The parade coincides with the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. In response to the parade, a large number of “No Kings” protests have been organized around the country by a progressive nonprofit called Indivisible.
Among the dozens protests held in Illinois were Danville and Urbana.
Urbana’s rally took place outside the Champaign County Courthouse from 4 to 6 p.m., while Danville residents gathered from 10 a.m. to noon on the Southeast corner of Vermilion Street and Fairchild Street.
This is a developing story.
