URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On Tuesday, the Urbana Fire Department released its 2025 response totals along with a breakdown of the data.
In the past year, the department responded to a total of 6,679 incidents, with the majority being medical-related. That accounted for 57.67% of all incidents. A graph detailing responses is below.

Former years’ response totals are as follows:
- 2024: 6,447 incidents
- 2023: 6,498 incidents
- 2022: 6,314 incidents
- 2021: 5,522 incidents
- 2020: 4,737 incidents
- 2019: 5,246 incidents
The Urbana Fire Department states that these reports look to provide transparency and are aimed at helping residents understand how resources are utilized to ensure their safety and wellbeing as well as identify trends and collaborate on strategies to address specific community needs.
“Sharing this information also fosters trust and accountability within the community by highlighting the department’s dedication to serving the public effectively,” the department said via its release.
