URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – On the morning of June 11, officers with the Urbana Police Department arrested a 38-year-old man on preliminary charges related to child exploitation at his residence in the 1900 block of N. Lincoln Avenue.

The man was identified in an Urbana PD press release as Carson Zajdel, and he was taken into custody without incident on multiple preliminary charges related to the exploitation of children.

The arrest followed a joint investigation between the Urbana PD and the Hopkinsville Police Department (Hopkinsville, K.Y.). Zajdel is facing initial charges of Indecent Solicitation of a Child, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, and Possession of Child Pornography. The investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges may be considered as evidence is reviewed.

“Due to the sensitive and ongoing nature of the investigation, no additional details are being released at this time,” the press release stated.
