URBANA, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY)- The City of Urbana’s Market at the Square is pleased to announce that its 2024 season will get underway on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Ranked as one of the top farmer’s markets to visit in Illinois, the Market is located at the corner of Illinois and Vine Streets and runs rain or shine from 7 a.m. to noon every Saturday through October 2024.
Urbana’s Market at the Square is celebrating its 45th year and has been a mainstay of our community.
Saturday morning activities since 1979. It is home to over 150 vendors selling Illinois-grown produce,
plants and flowers, and farm products such as meat, eggs, honey, and fresh baked goods. There is also a
wide variety of handmade local arts & crafts for sale and food trucks offering a variety of items sure to
satisfy any palate.
“This is going to be a great season for Urbana’s Market at the Square,” Bryan Heaton, Urbana’s Market
coordinator said. “We’re looking forward to the Market’s 45th year of operation in Downtown Urbana.”
Additionally, the Market will continue to offer weekly email updates entitled Market Mail. These email
updates inform subscribers about what to expect at the Market each week, programming details, and
more. Sign-up is available on the Market’s website at www.urbanamarket.org.
Vendors at Urbana’s Market at the Square accept cash, many accept credit and debit cards and some
accept electronic payment. Customers wishing to use their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
(SNAP) benefits may do so by bringing their LINK card to the information tent in the north row of the
Market.
