URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – On Saturday, September 21, several Urbana streets will be closed for the CU Pride-fest. The following streets in downtown Urbana will be closed from approximately 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a vendor fair and parade-related activities:
- W. Main St. from the Main St./Springfield Ave. split to S. Broadway Ave.
- S. Race St. from W. Elm St. to approximately one block north of W. Main St.
- Water St. between N. Broadway Ave. and N. Vine St.
- W. Elm St. between S. Cedar St. and S. Race St. will be closed from approximately 12 to 8 p.m.
The event will also include a parade starting at 1 p.m. The following streets will be closed for the parade from 12:45 to 2:30 p.m.:
- Illinois St. between S. Vine St. and S. Race St.
- S. Race St. between W. Illinois St. and W. Elm St.
- W. Elm St. from S. Cedar St. to S. Broadway Ave.
- Broadway Ave. from E. Elm St. to E. Water St.
Roads and intersections on the parade route will be reopened as the last parade participants travel through those streets.
Parking will not be permitted in City Lot 24 located on Illinois St. and City Lots 5 and 9 located on Water St. from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 21 to allow for parade staging. For more information, visit the Uniting Pride of Champaign County 2024 Parade & Fair website.
