The Champaign School Board was forced to cancel its regularly scheduled Monday night meeting after three members—Mark Holm, Betsy Holder, and Amy Armstrong—announced they would be absent, leaving the board without a quorum.

The two-vehicle collision occurred near milepost 167 on the westbound side of I-74, close to Mansfield. Emergency personnel responded to the scene where one individual was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The Mayoral Recognition Program is open to any UHS student who completes at least 30 hours of volunteer service during the academic year. Eligible students will receive a Certificate of Service from Mayor Marlin, Superintendent Dr. Ivory-Tatum, and UHS Principal Jesse Guzman.
