Beginning this week, University of Illinois students are gaining access to free, comprehensive test prep courses to help them better prepare for graduate admissions and licensing exams, unlocking equitable pathways to in-demand career fields like nursing, teaching, cybersecurity, and more.
The earth’s shadow completely covers the moon, making it look much dimmer and red. Planetarium staff, members of the Champaign-Urbana Astronomical Society, and the Parkland Astronomy Club will set up several telescopes outside the planetarium so visitors can look at the Moon. The eclipse date also happens to be Pi Day.
“Traveling to Ecuador was genuinely one of the best experiences I have had in my life. It was so much fun to build meaningful relationships with my classmates and members of the Ecuadorian communities we visited,” said Ansley Faivre, a participant of the program.
Purdue and Nebraska will also be in attendance. The 2025 slate will be the ninth season under head coach Chris Tamas. Tamas owns a 149-94 mark at the helm, including five NCAA Tournament appearances.
“Providing free test and licensing preparation courses for students is an important measure to help remove some of the financial barriers students face in advancing their education and careers,” said ISAC Executive Director Eric Zarnikow. “ISAC is pleased to partner with Kaplan to provide these services, and I highly encourage all eligible students to enroll in a relevant course this year.”
“From a financial standpoint, it helps ensure that our community receives its fair share of state and federal funding distributed on a per capita basis. It also is important that we have accurate demographic and housing data in order to plan for programs and services. Finally, we were able to count residents in several housing complexes that had been built since 2020. We are sincerely grateful to all the residents who responded to Census 2025. They live here and they count,” said Mayor Diane Wolfe Marlin.
On top of this, there will be book fees to select courses on the approved 2025–2026 course fee schedule. Trustees also resolved to adopt a Douglas County property assessment agreement. This agreement sets a valuation for a brownfield property in Douglas County, making it an attractive option for a company planning to establish a $750 million corn wet milling and biofermentation manufacturing plant.
Head of DPNS and Executive Director, Peterson will draw inspiration from the Arboretum’s 2021 Master plan, focusing on improving iconic physical spaces, creating connections between those spaces, growing partnerships, and increasing communication with the community and donors. While many Arboretum activities will continue, Peterson explains that the community must be patient as the division navigates a new facility.
