Eastern Illinois Foodmobile distributing food to north and south Champaign County

The vehicle will cover southern Champaign County on April 1 and northern Champaign County on April 11. Distribution sites and times are listed at eifoodbank.org/help/mobile.html. The distribution is part of the Foodbank’s Foodmobile Program, a system of mobile food pantries designed to help bring nutritious food to rural or underserved areas. Updates regarding future food distributions can be found at the Foodbank’s website at eifoodbank.org.

UIUC professor gives food and plasma lecture at Parkland planetarium

Sankaran earned his Ph. D at the California Institute of Technology and joined UIUC’s Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering in 2020. The lectures are filmed by Parkland College TV. Urbana man arrested following armed threat investigation

Urbana Police officers responded to a report of an armed subject on the 1000 block of South Smith Road on Saturday, March 15. Upon further investigation, officers discovered that a man had threatened another individual with a firearm. During the investigation, a loaded pistol was recovered. The 30-year-old Urbana man, a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing a firearm, was arrested.
