The program is open to any UHS Student who commits to a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service during the academic year. Students with 30 hours of service will receive a Certificate of Service. Students with 50, 75 or 100 hours of service will also earn bronze, silver or gold status and receive an additional recognition item. All participants will be recognized at the Mayoral Service Recognition Ceremony on April 16, 2025.
This occurs for one week only. Only leaves and non-woody plant materials accepted. No brush, branches, sod, or other materials are allowed. Leaves must be placed in paper lawn and garden bags. To complete a sewer repair, A&R Mechanical Services Inc. will be closing Prairie Street between White Street and Springfield Avenue. Access will be maintained to all properties, but the road will be closed to through traffic. Work begins at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, and will be completed by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, weather permitting.

The quilt recognizes marlin’s 23 years of service in the United States Army National Guard and his deployment in the Iraq War, for which he was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal in 2007. Marlin has served the community for the past 35 years in child welfare, leading Cunningham since 2008. The festival also celebrates their youth and hard work.
She also serves on the Educator Advisory Council for Advance Illinois. Delgado holds a Bilingual Bicultural Education and Spanish Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s of Education in Educational Administration.
