CFD responds to apartment fire started by unattended kitchen appliance

An apartment building on fire was reported by a passerby on Monday, November 25. The CFD responded by sending out firefighters at 12:56 p.m. and deployed a single hose line into an apartment. Fortunately, the fire crews were able to get the fire under control in time. The cause of the fire was attributed to a kitchen appliance and was entirely accidental.

Help keep your family safe by providing at least three feet of space around all heating equipment, testing your smoke alarms monthly and practicing your two-minute home fire escape plan.”
