
On the morning of June 11, officers with the Urbana Police Department arrested a 38-year-old man on preliminary charges related to child exploitation at his residence in the 1900 block of N. Lincoln Avenue.

On Tuesday June 10 at around 7:45 p.m., Danville police officers responded to a hit and run traffic crash in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive. Officers learned that the victim was four years old.

A fight in Champaign escalated Sunday night when two teenagers were shot, one of them critically. According to Champaign Police, officers were dispatched to Burr Oak Court at 10:19 p.m. following reports of a shooting with injuries.

The charges stem from an ongoing investigation launched earlier this year following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student.

Two Central Illinois men were arrested Wednesday morning in Paxton on cocaine-related charges following a police raid. Authorities say 31-year-old Zonte L. Portis of Paxton and 47-year-old Armoane L. Larkins of Rantoul were taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance—between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine, a Class 1 felony. Portis faces an additional Class X felony for possession with intent to deliver.
