The 36-year-old woman, Malaia A. Turner, was sentenced on Monday, September 23 to 27 years for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of substances containing methamphetamine.
A Champaign man has been arrested following online threats of violence against Parkland College.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Champaign Police Department (CPD), and Parkland College Public Safety all worked together to investigate the threat mentioning Parkland.
A sexual assault was reported to the University of Illinois Police Department Monday morning at 11:31 a.m. Due to the incident’s location, in the 1000 block of W. Stoughton, the matter was referred to the Urbana Police Department.
These patrols took place on Friday, September 20 and helped the ISP in “preventing, detecting, and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.”
Danville Police Officers responded to a call from the Dairy Queen on North Vermillion Street on Saturday around 8:00p.m. about a robbery that had just occurred.
Upon further investigation, the police obtained security footage from an apartment complex in the area containing a video of Davis and the victim getting into a physical altercation.

Parkland College’s Board of Trustees adopted next year’s budget and made purchases to enhance public safety across campus at its monthly meeting Wednesday.

The Champaign County Circuit Clerk’s office will be hosting Amnesty Week from October 14 to October 25. During that week, anyone who has a balance due on a criminal, traffic, DUI, ordinance violation, or conservation violation can pay their total minus any late or collection fees.
