
Molly Cornyn is no stranger to the Roger Ebert Film Festival (Ebertfest) experience, having coordinated the behind-the-scenes logistics for the past three years. She handles all of the details, from organizing transportation and housing for the special guests, to ensuring the films arrive and everything behind-the-scenes is functioning. “It’s all about making the filmmakers, actors, and their guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive in Champaign. An awards ceremony on April 17 with recognize students with remarkable distinction with merit awards, purchase awards, monetary award certificates, and scholarship recipients. The reception is scheduled on April 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Giertz Gallery. The exhibit is open until Saturday, May 10. The Spring gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Saturday, noon to 2:00 p.m.

The Boneyard Arts Festival, an annual celebration of local creativity, will take place across Champaign County from April 4-6. This unique, countywide event will feature the work of hundreds of local artists in both traditional venues like galleries and museums, and non-traditional spots like bars, libraries, and retail stores.

Roger Ebert’s Film Festival, or Ebertfest, has revealed the final three films for this year’s lineup, set for April 23-26 at the Virginia Theatre in downtown Champaign. The films are Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, Walter Salles’ I’m Still Here, and Lotte Reiniger’s The Adventures of Prince Achmed.

On March 28, enjoy a free classical guitar performance by Guido Sanchez Portuguez at the Springer Cultural Center as part of the Bach’s Lunch Concerts. Later, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering will host the Women in Engineering Fair at UIUC, showcasing women in STEM. In the evening, Neo Soul by Candlelight at The Dollhouse starts at 8 p.m. with a $10 entry fee. On March 30, catch the UFLive! Afternoon Serenade at The Urbana Free Library from 2 to 3 p.m. featuring a local quartet performing light classical and romantic music.

The Annual festival features a collection of quilts, centerpieces, wreaths, and gift shop treasures on display.

The exhibition is scheduled from Monday, June 9 to Wednesday, July 24, 2025. Costello and Kelly White, Executive Director of 40 North, Champaign County Arts Council, will give opening remarks at 6:15 p.m. during the reception on Thursday, June 12, 2025. There will also be a closing reception from 5:30–7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24.
